Shepherd’s Pie

Ingrédients

  • 2 potatoes, boiled
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons (45 to 60 ml) milk
  • 1 can (7.5 oz/213 ml) corn niblets or green peas
  • 1/2 lb (250 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • pinch each of salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) chopped fresh parsley

Mode d'emploi

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a bowl, mash potatoes with milk. Set aside.
  3. Drain corn or peas. Set aside.
  4. In a skillet, over medium-high heat, cook ground beef until browned.
  5. Drain excess fat.
  6. Add onion to the beef and cook until onion becomes transparent.
  7. Transfer beef and onion mixture to a 13 x 9 inch (33 x 23 cm) baking dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and parsley.
  8. Spread corn or peas over meat.
  9. Cover corn or peas with mashed potatoes.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes.
